Tracy Kolb

I got my BS in Geology from University of Michigan in 2003. While I was there I did a research paper on the functional morphology of sharks which led to my interest in biology. After I graduated I moved to Florida and interned for Mote Marine Laboratory at the Center for Fisheries Stock Enhancement and Center for Shark Research.

After my internship was complete I moved back to Michigan and worked for the MDNR Charlevoix Fisheries Research Station and USFWS Jordan River Fish Hatchery. While at the MDNR I researched their existing creel database and co-authored a paper on the effects of creel limits on Lake Michigan Chinook salmon. Now I am currently doing research on management of fisheries information. Since I have been at MSU I have co-authored one paper on the globalization of fisheries management and have been developing a database for the MDNR that maintains information on fisheries statute and orders.
