Hardware Support

To provide the best service and support FW IT has created a detail list of recommendation for minimum specifications for new hardware purchases. FW IT mostly support Dell systems, but we also support manufactures like HP, Lenovo and Apple. Please check with an IT Staff for more details before purchasing your computer. The standards will also determine the levels of service and support that FW IT will deliver. Standards are also used to determine the items sold in the MSU Computer Store.

We recommend that all computers be purchased with a 3 year extended warranty and next business day service, if available. Failure to purchase a 3 year warranty might increase repair costs significantly for your department. All computing equipment out of warranty will incur costs for replacement parts.
