Welcome to the Fisheries and Wildlife Information Technology Center

Welcome to the Fisheries and Wildlife Information Technology Center's web site. Below you will find information and forms to better assist you. Fisheries and Wildlife Information Technology Center provides front line IT support to Faculty, Staff and Students in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife in a variety of areas. We assist members of the FW community with general computing questions and problems. If you are still having trouble locating the information you need, please contact an IT Staff. We will answer any technical or computer-related questions or concerns you may have.

Our mission is to provide responsive technical support to the Fisheries and Wildlife community via phone, e-mail and on-site service. We support Fisheries and Wildlife standard software and hardware, e-mail and network related problems on Windows and Macintosh platforms. We will take a proactive approach to identifying and solving user's problems to better assist Fisheries and Wildlife in its use of computer technology.

Services provided to the FW Community


FW Commons


Reservation System

FW users can log into the Reservation System and make reservations on Notebook Computers, Projectors, Conference Room (Advising Center) and the Department's Truck. FWIT will only provide assistance to users in getting into the system. Assets in the system are not monitored by FWIT, staff members in Room 13 should be able to help users.


Order Forms

Users in need of new hardware can log into the Order Forms and submit a request for TLE Orders. Please read through the Orders document in the News page before placing your tech orders.

Users having problems logging into the Order Forms should contact FWIT immediately.


Tech Support Forms

Users in need of help with their computers, printers, etc, can log into the Technical Support Forms and create a support ticket. FWIT will ONLY respond to support calls once the ticket has been created by the user. Email and Phone calls are still encouraged, we would really appreciate it if users can create support tickets before seeking other methods.

Users having problems logging into the Tech Support forms should contact FWIT immediately.


Calendars

FWIT is working towards building a department level Calendar System for Faculty, Staff and Students. The new calendar system will be available to anyone in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, which can be private or public to all or to just a few. The calendar can synchronize with Microsoft Outlook, Palm Desktop and also any handheld devices like Palm.

Microsoft Exchange Server is most likely to be introduced by FWIT sometime in the near future for Calendaring. Users maybe interested in Google Calendar.


News

Users can find information about the FWHOME Network and detailed explanation on specific topics related to the network. Users are highly encouraged to check the News Page periodically as new updates are addressed by FWIT.
