Procedure for entering the Biometry Group Dual Ph.D. and Statistics Masters program

This program is available only to Biometry Ph.D. students.

  1. The student initiates the process by filling out the BiG form "Application form: Master’s degree Programs in Statistics for Ph.D. Biometry Students", and the University form "Request for Permission to Complete Two Degrees Concurrently or an Additional Departmental Major." The BiG form is available from the Biometry Group’s curriculum coordinator. The "Request for Permission…" form should be available from your home department.
  2. The student obtains an endorsement from the appropriate BiG member (Major Professor or Committee Member) on the BiG form, and takes the forms to the BiG curriculum coordinator for initials and to leave a copy of both forms for BiG records.
  3. The student sends a copy of the completed and signed BiG form to the Graduate Program Director in STT. A cover letter should indicate that the student is in the process of applying to add an MS in STT to a Ph.D. program in the CANR and that exceptions will be requested as outlined on the attached form as part of the working agreement between STT and BiG.
  4. The student then initiates the process of obtaining departmental and college level approvals for the University form. This will start with the current (Ph.D.) department.
